Many celebrities are ready to take a stab at 21-year-old pop star Justin Bieber. Comedy Central announced that Martha Stewart, Shaquille O’Neal and Snoop Dogg will join roast master Kevin Hart for the network’s roast of Bieber.
In addition, Ludacris and comedians Chris D’Elia, Natasha Leggero, Jeffrey Ross and Hannibal Buress will take turns sharing their best Bieber jokes. Although jokes will be fired, Bieber is ready for the roast.
Comedy Central’s Content Development and Original Programming President Kent Alterman said that Bieber has been requesting to be roasted for years, according to People Magazine. The network kept telling him to “create more source material.” Alterman said that the network is “thrilled he listened.”
It seems that his recent Calvin Klein ads, egg tossing vandalism and recent altercation with Orlando Bloom are up for grabs. Bieber has stayed positive and even poked fun at himself. He released a promo that showed him getting egged to make fun of his recent troubles.
Hart assured that Bieber will be fine. He told MTV News that the roast is all “in fun” and that he does not intend to be malicious. Hart added that he does not want to make Bieber cry, but he does want to make his “face shake.”
The network is hoping to draw in a large audience. The network’s last roast, which starred James Franco in 2013, brought in 3.1 million viewers. Nevertheless, no roast has yet to top Charlie Sheen’s 6.43 million viewers in 2011.
The promo features Jeffrey Ross as a female model teasing Bieber and declaring to be a “Belieber.” Bieber claims that he has no idea who the comedian is, and Ross says he is the pop star’s “worst nightmare.” What Ross means, and what the other cast members have to say, will be revealed when Comedy Central’s Roast of Justin Bieber airs on March 30 on Comedy Central.
