Hilton, who had reportedly been upset over his breakup with his girlfriend, apparently flipped out on a flight attendant who asked him to stay seated with his seatbelt fastened during its ascent, according to a report.
Paris Hilton’s youngest brother has plead guilty to assaulting flight attendants during a flight to Los Angeles from London after reports indicated he threatened to kill crew members and called other passengers “peasants.”
Conrad Hilton, 20, will appear in court on Thursday where he is expected to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, which has a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a year of probation along with a $5,000 fine — however, due to the deal, prosecutors will only ask the judge for probation, according to an Associated Press report.
Robert Shapiro, Hilton’s attorney, said that Hilton had taken a sleeping pill which had likely caused him to behave bizarrely. The FBI’s affidavit from the incident alleged that Hilton acknowledged calling other passengers “peasants” and that he would have indeed killed a flight attendant had a passenger not calmed him down during the July 31 flight.
The incident started when Hilton ignored instructions to leave his seatbelt fastened and instead started pacing the aisle during the aircraft’s ascent. He flew into a rage when told to sit that cause children on board to fly, threatening to kill flight attendants and the co-pilot and saying he would get them fired, according to the report.
He said he “could get you all fired in five minutes,” and constantly shouted a stream of profanities during the incident, according to the affidavit. Hilton later said a breakup with a girlfriend had hit him hard and he was trying to smoke marijuana, at one point going to a restroom on board where others could smell the odor of the drug coming out, according to the report.
He allegedly threw a punch that nearly connected with a flight attendance and instead struck a bulkhead. The attendant later said that he didn’t think Hilton intended to hurt him.
