Set to release in July.
Mumford & Sons haven’t released an album since 2012. After 3 long years, they are back with their new album Wilder Mind.
The album will be launching on May 4th, 2015 and will feature 12 new tracks.
Wilder Mind is set to have a “minimalist yet panoramic” feel which might mean that the banjo and acoustic sounds that we have known to associate with Mumford & Sons will be replaced with synth and electric elements.
Marcus Mumford says, “I think all of us had this desire to shake it up. The songwriting hasn’t changed drastically; it was led more by a desire to not do the same thing again.
Whether or not this new album is drastically different from the previous too, everybody will have high expectations. The British folk-rock band’s previous albums Sigh No More (2008) and Babel (2012) were both incredibly successful. Babel debuted at No. 1 in both the U.K. and the USA, and won album of the year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Pull out your calendar, because Mumford & Sons will be promoting their new record by having two day live events in towns in the USA and U.K. that usually don’t attract big named touring artists. Some of the towns include Seaside Heights, New Jersey; Waverly, Iowa; Walla Walla, Washington; and Salida, Colorado.
These will be highly anticipated shows since bands including Flaming Lips, Alabama Shakes, My Morning Jacket, Jenny Lewis, Foo Fighters, and JEFF The Brotherhood will be performing at some of the stopovers.
In addition to the stopover shows, Mumford & Sons will headline Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, alongside Billy Joel and Kendrick Lamar.
Tickets for the stopover shows will go on sale on March 6. The show will be in June.
