There may be new recruits. Reality television stars Khloe Kardashian and NeNe Leakes are rumored to be the lead candidates to replace Kelly Osbourne on E!’s Fashion Police.
As US Magazine reported, Osbourne, 30, quit the show on Friday February 27th after the much-publicized drama over her coworker Giuliana Rancic’s controversial comments about a celebrity at the actress. Rancic made headlines for joking that actress Zendaya’s dreadlocks looked like they smelled of “patchouli and weed.” Rancic has since apologized to Zendaya but apparently Osbourne was not appeased.
While none of the executives or remaining cohosts, including Kathy Griffin and Rancic, have commented on Osbourne’s potential replacements, US Magazine claims to have a source as to the leading candidates.
Kardashian, best known for her blockbuster series Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has appeared on Fashion Police as a guest several times, most recently at the Oscars on February 22. US Magazine’s source reported that Kardashian had passed on the chance to join the show full-time previously. They added that, “she may consider doing it again but the offer would have to be really high.”
As for Leakes, who became famous on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, she appeared on Fashion Police in 2013. She was rumored to be a candidate to fill Joan Rivers’ spot last year, but the position was taken by Kathy Griffin.
No matter who replaces Osbourne, Joan Rivers’ daughter Melissa feels confident the show will survive and flourish. “The show must go on,” she said in a statement. “And I plan to continue in the same spirit.”
