Aguilera impersonates Britney Spears, Cher, and Shakira during Jimmy Fallon's "Wheel of Musical Impressions."
After Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine beat him in a game of “Wheel of Musical Impressions” last September, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has been desperate to reclaim his title as King of the Musical Impression. Fallon challenged The Voice coach and award-winning singer Christina Aguilera during his talk show on Monday night, but Aguilera’s spot-on impressions of music legend Cher, fellow Mickey Mouse Club star Britney Spears and Colombian singer Shakira helped her dominate the hilarious competition.
When Fallon challenged Aguilera to play the “Wheel of Musical Impressions” against him, he immediately told the pop diva not to be nervous. However, Aguilera seemed to be perfectly confident in her ability to impersonate Cher singing the catching Folgers Coffee jingle, and delivered a nearly-perfect impression.
“That was so stupid,” she said after belting the quick jingle in the style of the “Believe” singer, but it was still better than Fallon’s first turn singing “Grand Old Flag” as David Bowie.
In the next round, Aguilera was asked to sing “This Little Piggy” as her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star Britney Spears.
“You know Britney Spears, right?” Fallon jokingly asked, causing Aguilera to laugh and respond with, “A little bit, a little bit.”
She then channeled Spears and sang the children’s song in the vein of “…Baby One More Time.”
“Oh, my God! That is something I’ve always wanted! That is amazing. I loved that so much!” said Fallon, after giving her a standing ovation. “That was fantastic. Hard to top that, but I’ll try.”
The Tonight host tried to get back in the competition by performing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” as Michael McDonald, but it clearly wasn’t enough to top Aguilera’s hilariously perfect impressions. Aguilera ended the competition by singing the Golden Girls theme song as Shakira, and Fallon turned the song into a duet as a sign that he surrendered the victory over to Aguilera.
