Actor Jamie Dornan starred as Christian Grey in the first Fifty Shade of Grey film, but he might not be returning for the remaining films of the franchise. The 32 year old actor is allegedly turning down the follow up roles out of respect for his wife Amelia Warner who he married in 3012. The couple has one child together.
Dornan reportedly took the role in confidence that it would be a great career boost, but is now considering the toll the explicit sex scenes might be taking on Warner who has not seen the film. Dornon shared in an interview that his wife most likely would not be seeing the movie because it would be uncomfortable for her to watch his sex scenes with actress Dakota Johnson who plays the other lead Anastasia Steele.
“She doesn’t want to watch this. She wants to support me and my work. I won’t be able to sit there myself. I am not going to put any pressure on her either way. It’s her decision. She’s well aware that it’s pretend, but it’s probably not that comfortable to watch,” he said.
Dakota Johnson also has close relationships in her life who won’t be seeing the film either. Dakota and her mother actress Melanie Griffith attended the Oscars together and had an awkward interview moment discussing the film. Melanie made it clear that she would prefer not to see it, while Dakota made no effort to hide her annoyance at the fact.
The film has met mixed reviews so far, but it has done well at the box office for the second weekend in a row taking the number one spot both times. The Fifty Shades of Grey series was originally an erotic book series of Twilight fan fiction written by E.L. James.
The film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson has already suggested that the trilogy would continue on after the first film, and movie goers have been confident that the ending of the first film left plenty open for the following films to continue upon.
