Sometimes the horror translates to real life. Actor Ben Woolf, 34, best known for his role as “Meep” on American Horror Story, has passed away after a car accident.
TMZ broke the story on February 19th that Woolf was hit in the head by a sideview mirror of a passing car in Hollywood as he attempted to cross the street. Police determined Woolf was jaywalking and thus the driver was not ticketed or charged with any offense.
Woolf, who was 4’4”, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he remained in a heavily sedated state. According to TMZ, his condition was initially updated to stable but he had not woken up before suffering a stroke on Monday afternoon.
His organs will be donated to nearly 50 people. His family issued a statement reading, “We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben. He touched so many hearts in his 34 years.” His rep released a statement remembering him as, “one of a kind.”
As EOnline reports, stars and friends have reacted on Twitter, including American Horror Story’s network, Fox, which called Woolf “a tremendous professional and an incredibly kind person.” The show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, wrote, “RIP Ben Woolf. One of the most inspirational people I have ever met.”
A memorial service is being planned in Santa Barbara.
