Former rapper Robert Van Winkle, also known as Vanilla Ice, was bailed out of jail after being arrested for home burglary and grand theft charges.

Ice, 47 years old, was booked into Palm Beach County Jail, according to Chief Sean Scheller at the Latana Police Department, but was released on bail that same evening.

Van Winkle has this to say to the West Palm Beach, Florida, ABC affiliate WPBF, “It’s just out of proportion I wish you guys would focus on the good things I’ve done. It’s a misunderstanding. It was blown out of proportion”

When asked if this stunt was a part of a reality show he said, “I wish it was–there’s nothing fun about this. I wish everyone the best and maybe the good news will travel this fast.”

Van Winkle has been accused of breaking into a foreclosed house near a house he has been renovating for DIY’s The Vanilla Ice Project in Lantana, Florida. Reports said that furniture, a pool heater, bicycles, and other items were stolen. Some of these items have been reported to be found at Van Winkles property.

Van Winkle’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

DIY Network has said it is “looking into the matter.”
