Season 7 has a champion. Leeza Gibbons battled Geraldo Rivera to be “hired” in Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice on Monday night and walked away with the win.

Gibbons, 57, is a television reporter, talk and news show host, author, and philanthropist. According to the New York Daily News, Gibbons joined Celebrity Apprentice to win money for her charity, Leeza’s Care Connection, which provides support and resources to families who care for seniors with Alzheimer’s. Gibbons’ mother battled the disease, giving her a fierce drive to create and maintain the charity.

“Never underestimate a woman with passion who knows where she’s going and what she wants,” Gibbons told Trump during the finale when he admitted he did not think she was going to succeed in the competition.

In the final task, Gibbons and Rivera each made commercials for Universal Orlando and raised funds for their charities. According to People, Gibbons earned raves for her professional commercial, and raised more money than Rivera during the task. She became the first female winner of the show since Joan Rivers and earned an extra $250,000 for her charity.

Rivera’s charity, Life’s WORC, which supports people on the autism spectrum, did not leave empty-handed. He won a total of $725,000 throughout the competition that they will be able to keep.

During the finale, Trump announced that there will be a Celebrity Apprentice 8, although filming and air dates have not been announced.
