Former Disney starlet Selena Gomez goes topless on scandalous ‘V’ magazine cover

Disney Channel alum wears nothing but short-shorts and a polka dot hair bow in scandalous V magazine cover.

Selena Gomez first showed the world that she’s no longer a young and innocent Disney Channel star in the 2012 R-rated drama Spring Breakers, and now the 22-year-old singer and actress is ready to bare it all to prove her maturity. Gomez covers the latest issue of V magazine wearing nothing but denim short-shorts and a polka dot bow, and the provocative topless image is making a number of her old Wizards of Waverly Place fans extremely uncomfortable.

Gomez covers her breasts with her folded arms in the scandalous cover image, but that isn’t stopping fans from questioning whether or not she’s old enough to be casting herself as a sex symbol. In a poll conducted by the Los Angles Times, 39 percent of readers said that they are “kind of uncomfortable” about the image, and an additional 14 percent said they found the image “gross.”

In order to further prove that she’s becoming an adult, Gomez revealed her thoughts about young love in the magazine, and even discretely discussed her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

“I think the next time [I have a boyfriend] will be much different … which will definitely not be anytime soon,” said Gomez. “That’s a growing up kind of thing. I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I’m guarding certain things more.”

In the interview, which was conducted by her Spring Breakers co-star James Franco, Gomez also talked about how happy she is to be filming In Dubious Battle with Franco, and working on new music with her rumored fling Zedd.

“I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m super stoked that I’ve got some bumps on me, some scars, some bruises,” said Gomez. “I actually really love that. And I don’t mean that in a morbid way.”

Gomez’s issue of V magazine goes on sale on Feb. 26.
