‘House of Cards’ Season 3 leaked on Netflix

For a short period Wednesday, all 10 new episodes of the political thriller House of Cards was leaked on Netflix. Although Netflix managed to take the third season offline about half an hour later, some fans were able to get a sneak peek of the first episode.

The video company called the leak a “technical glitch” and pulled the episodes. The House of Cards Twitter account responded with a cheeky post saying, “This is Washington. There’s always a leak.” The series will premiere legitimately on Feb. 27.

The first scene of the third season opens with Frank Underwood peeing on his father’s grave. The episode depicts the hatred Republicans, Democrats and the American public have for President Underwood. Yet, Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) are ruling the White House.

Steven Colbert also reams Underwood in the first episode during an interview. Colbert calls Underwood out for raising unemployment, the number of vetoes and the trade deficit with China in just six months as the president.

Several other spoilers were given in the short period the season was online. For instance, Doug Stamper has damage to his left frontal cortex, but he is alive. Also, Frank picked his next Vice President and Claire set her sights on being ambassador to the United Nations. Fans are going to have to wait two more weeks for more details to be revealed.

The Netflix original political drama series debuted in 2013. House of Cards revolves around Underwood, who begins as a Congressman, and his wife as they work to exact revenge on all of those who betrayed him. The popular series has been nominated for more than 75 awards from programs such as the Primetime Emmy Awards, the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Critics Choice Television Awards, and more. Leading actor Kevin Spacey picked up the Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a television series-drama this year, and leading actress Robin Wright picked one up for best performance by an actress in television series-drama in 2014.
