Jennifer Lawrence has faced some scary things on-screen, but her latest magazine photo shoot shows this Hollywood starlet is brave off-screen, too.

The cover of March’s Vanity Fair will feature The Hunger Games actress dressed in nothing but a boa … a boa constrictor, that is.

Lawrence is nude aside from the snake, strategically slithered around her body. The photo by Patrick Demarchelier pays homage to the 1981 portrait of Nastassja Kinski, noted Vanity Fair.

“Jennifer has the perfect combination of strength, sexuality, and humor, and, above all, tomboy to pull this off,” said Jessica Diehl, Vanity Fair fashion and style director.

The photo is stunning; shot at a private Hollywood Hills home, there’s a Garden-of-Eden feel to the frame. Lawrence emanates sex appeal, something that can’t be easy with a giant snake laying on top of you.

Katniss was apparently cool as a cucumber during the shoot, but once the boa started to get a little too interested in her neck, it was time to wrap.

This isn’t Lawrence’s first brush with nudity, though it’s decidedly on her own terms.

She and a host of female celebrities were the target of an iCloud hack last year that saw many of their private photos plastered over the internet, including nude pictures. Lawrence confirmed the authenticity of her leaked photos to E! News and said authorities were investigating the hack and would prosecute anyone who posted the stolen images.

Thankfully, there’s no hacker responsible for the Vanity Fair photo. Just a scaly snake and one tough woman.
