Warner Bros. and TT Games released a teaser for their upcoming installment in the Lego video game franchise, Jurassic World. While only about 30 seconds long excluding the ESRB rating info and release date at the end, the trailer promises ” four Jurassic adventures,” and “one colossal videogame.”
Warner Bros. added some fuel to the excitement already building around the Jurassic World movie set to hit theaters Jun. 12. This teaser may not show any actual footage from the game, but what it does show is exactly what Lego fans have come to expect from the video game franchise. The information below the video describes it as “Reimagined in LEGO form and told in TT Games’ signature classic LEGO humor, the thrilling adventure recreates unforgettable scenes and action sequences from the films, allowing fans to play through key moments.”
While the game is named for the upcoming movie, it will also feature material from the previous movies in the franchise, as well as customized dinosaurs made from DNA the player has collected. Managing director Tom Stone had previously stated how thrilled he was to be able to work with the dinosaurs within the Lego medium, saying “Imagine playing as the ominous Lego T. Rex, roaming the grounds of Isla Nublar, smashing Lego bricks and battling with other dinosaurs.”
TT Games has been a Warner Bros. subsidiary since 2007, and has worked primarily to create numerous successful Lego games including Lego Batman, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Carribean, and The Hobbit. 2015 will be an ambitious year for the game publisher as it is also releasing Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin Mar. 24, and partnering with Marvel Entertainment for Lego Marvel’s Adventures, scheduled for release in the fall.
Lego: Jurassic World is scheduled for sale in June for PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.
