LOS ANGELES, Feb 5—Notorious Death Row Records owner Marion “Suge” Knight, 49, remains in the hospital after being admitted moments after a court appearance for his latest legal troubles. Knight has been hospitalized since Tuesday due to ongoing health issues, reportedly related to injuries he received in a shooting last year in Hollywood.
The infamous rap label owner has had his far share of run ins with the law; but, a murder and attempted murder charges now threaten to put Knight behind bars—again. This time, it was an incident involving Knight running into two men with his car, fatally wounding one. After an alleged confrontation in the parking lot of a local fast food restaurant, Knight
Reports state that Knight began arguing with a group late on the afternoon of January 29th while on set of the upcoming film “Straight Outta Compton,” based on the biography of legendary rap group NWA. Apparently, matters got worse as they moved across the street, where Knight eventually hit two men, Terry Carter and Cle “Bone” Sloan, mortally wounding Carter and hospitalizing Sloan. Knight claimed Carter was a good friend and that he was only trying to stop an attack from other unnamed individuals.
At the time of the incident, Knight was out on bail after another altercation involving a camera man. Records indicate that Knight and Kat Williams were involved with stealing an expense camera after being harassed by paparazzi.
On February 4, Knight and his lawyer faced a judge in Compton regarding the incident. Along with murder and attempted murder, Knight was also formally charged with not one, but two hit-and-run felony charges. Bail was set at $2 million. Still, Knight’s lawyer seemed confident that the charges will not hold, claiming Knight was being attacked at the scene which prompted him to flee with such recklessness.
Right after being arraigned, Knight was immediately hospitalized. The true nature of this hospitalization remains uncertain, as does when he will be released.
