Whitney Houston bio “must have killed” Bobbi Kristina, says Rosie Perez

Rosie Perez returned to the View this week after a month-long absence, but her first day back had a few bumps.

The actress, returning from rehearsals for the upcoming play by Larry David, was commenting on the recent hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the troubled daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. “Just thought about the movie that came out [the Whitney Houston biopic on Lifetime], and this is no disrespect to Angela Bassett because I love [her], but this authorized bio of her mom must have killed her,” Perez told the audience.

“That was terrible phrasing,” Perez admitted, almost immediately realizing how what she said must have sounded. “It must have hurt her deeply to watch that. We forget these people are human beings. We put them into the tabloids, and we forget they’re human beings.”

The audience applauded Perez’s clarification and further remarks, which come days after Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home almost three years to the day after her mother’s death under similar circumstances. According to sources, Brown was recently moved to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, considered to be one of the top facilities for patients with neurological issues.

“We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina,” said Bobby Brown, in a statement released by his attorney. “To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon. We continue to request privacy in this matter. Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time.”
