Actress Lindsey Godfrey, who plays Caroline Spencer on the daytime CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful, underwent emergency surgery after being hit by a car in Los Angeles yesterday.
The 26-year old actress was struck late Monday afternoon after a car jumped the curb and collided with another vehicle. Godfrey was pinned underneath the wreckage and assisted by an onlooker, who pulled her from underneath the car before she was rushed to the hospital.
A spokeswoman confirmed that Godfrey sustained injuries to her ankles but is expected to make a full recovery.
Cast members of the show took to Twitter to share positive updates about Godfrey’s prognosis.
“Hey everyone. @linseygodfrey is going to be okay. She is strongest person I know & has all the Drs laughing w her usual hysterical self,” wrote actress and co-star Kelly Kruger.
“Re: @linseygodfrey—Not my place to pass along medical details, but she’s going to be okay. Throughout the trauma, she has remained fabulous,” added another co-star, Scott Clifton.
And Katherine Kelly Lang, who portrays Brooke Forrester, chimed in, “Sending good thoughts and prayers and healing energy to @linseygodfrey !! I hope surgery goes well & hope to see u back at work very soon!”
The Bold and The Beautiful did not tape on Monday. Godfrey’s character is in the middle of a major story arc, but producers have rearranged the taping schedule to accommodate the actress while she recovers.
Fans have taken to Instagram to send their good wishes to Godfrey, who was nominated last year for a Daytime Emmy.
“Sending love & prayers for a speedy recovery to my favorite B&B actress @ohmygodfrey,” said one.
