Val Kilmer in ICU after Monday night 911 call.
Panic among the celebrity-obsessed almost certainly ensued when news broke that one of America’s favorites was being rushed to the hospital. Val Kilmer, 55, suffered from “complications” on Monday night, resulting in a 911 call from his residence around 11:31 pm. Moments later, he was being transported ALS (advanced life support) to Los Angeles Hospital. His two children are by his side now, Mercedes, 23, and Jack, 19.
Kilmer does not want his fans to worry, though. He posted a status on Facebook from the hospital saying, “…I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU.” While he has not had any surgeries yet, he is undergoing tests for a supposed throat tumor that may be the cause of his emergency. He concluded the status with a breath of hope and a ‘thank you’ to his fans for all their loving support: “I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don’t worry. Love and deep affection, Val.”
According to TMZ, the “complications” Kilmer experienced on Monday night consisted of bleeding from the throat. Those close to him say they are frustrated because Kilmer has had issues with this throat and tongue in the past but simply has not dealt with them and lets them get worse. In October, he was reported to have told a judge in small claims court that he was unable to speak because his tongue was swollen. Whatever the cause of his emergency, we hope the action hero gets well soon.
