"Hacker's List," launched just a few months ago, aims to anonymously hook up hackers with those who need jobs done.

A new website called “Hacker’s List” is up and running and seeking to hook up hackers with people who either need access to personal information, access to a database, or just want to mess with someone they don’t like, according to the New York Times.
The new site has already facilitated bids for 500 hacking jobs. The site operates discreetly, keeping the parties involved anonymous, and the website collects a fee for each assignment. Customers bid on jobs and their payments are held in escrow until the assignment is completed.
The hacks range from simple ones to more complex ones, with fees ranging from $100 to up to $5,000, and they originate around the globe.
One bidder in Australia said he would pay up $2,000 to get a list of clients from his competitors database, according to the Times report. The bidder said he wants to know who the customers are and how much they are being charged.
Others simply wanted embarrassing photos or stories removed from the Internet, or needed a grade changed or a password recovered.
The site shows how low-profile hacking has grown commonplace in today’s Internet. Hacking into email and social media accounts is a fairly regular occurrence, creating a problem for law enforcement agencies. Several high-profile hacking incidents include the leak of confidential Sony emails and the leaking of nudes of numerous celebrities.
The Times review of the site showed that there is clearly more demand than there is supply. Although there were 844 registered job posters, there were just 40 hackers doing work, leaving many of the jobs unfilled.
The founders of Hacker’s List claim they aren’t doing anything illegal, and have spelled out in their terms and conditions that users must agree not to use the service for illegal purposes.
