One of the most anticipated sequels of the year is definitely getting the star treatment.

Nicole Kidman flew out to Atlanta this week to film a cameo for the upcoming Anchorman: The Legend Continues starring Will Ferrell. This isn’t the first time the Aussie beauty has worked alongside Ferrell. The two teamed up in the…charming movie adaptation of Bewitched back in 2005.

Nicole isn’t the first Hollywood heavyweight to jump into the Anchorman ring though. Harrison Ford was spotted on set donning a dark suit (and dark hair) walking alongside Ferrell’s character Ron Burgundy. It is rumored that Ford will play a big-time news anchor (think Peter Jennings or Tom Brokaw).

Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig will also be lending her comedic expertise to the sequel. Christina Applegate tweeted last month about Wiig’s time on the set saying, “So excited Kristen Wiig has joined our cast for Anchorman 2. Going 2 b best movie ever made. Besides the best movies ever made.” No pressure though Anchorman.

Numerous rumors began circulating at the end of last week regarding another big name joining the film – none other than Meryl Streep herself. This short lived rumor turned out to be just that and nothing more. While promoting his new movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Steve Carell mentioned how Meryl Streep told him what a huge fan she was of the original Anchorman (while they were filming Hope Springs last year).

“I jokingly said, ‘You should be in it,'” Carell reported at the SXSW opening-night premiere of his comedy. “Meryl said, ‘Could you imagine?’ And it was just that.”

Kidman, Ford and Wiig will join original Anchorman cast members Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and new addition Greg Kinnear
