25 Political myths — you probably believe more than half

Politics is simple, really. Just do it my way.

If we force kids to pray in schools, they will be more moral.

By making all the important choices for our children, they will understand how to make great choices themselves when the time comes.

If our political party wins the next election, things will be better.

If the majority votes for it, it’s right.

Our money wouldn’t be safe unless the banks are heavily regulated and the Fed manages interest rates effectively.

If you obey the police, everything will be okay.

Kids need to be in school earlier in life in order to make sure they get an good education.

The immigrants will take our jobs and mean to hurt us.

Taxation is voluntary.

Without taxes, many basic needs won’t be fulfilled.

The more important the good or service (e.g. healthcare, education), the more we need governments involved in raising the quality and lowering the costs, and it works super well.

Those organizations I support deserve government funding, and if you don’t like it, you’re wrong.
