Police in Indianapolis have arrested Larry Taylor, 18, in connection with the rape and murder of Amanda Blackburn on Nov. 10. Blackburn was the wife of a local pastor, and her murder has left people stunned. Blackburn was pregnant at the time of her rape and murder.

Police are also holding two others who are suspects in the case, but are being held on separate parole violation charges, reports The Washington Post. The mystery of the case, as well as the grisly details, held the nation’s attention for many days in early November. The young couple had moved to Indianapolis in 2012 to start their own church.

Blackburn, 28, and her husband Davey, were loved and respected in Indianapolis, and Amanda’s murder was a shock to the community. The young couple worked hard for the last three years to establish their church and to start a family. The had a boy and Amanda was pregnant with their second child.

On Nov. 10, however Davey had left for the gym at around 6 a.m. Soon after, someone broke into their home in what police believe was an attempt to rob an empty house. But Amanda, who was three months pregnant, was home at the time.

Police say that the intruder  raped Amanda and then shot her in the head. When Davey returned from the gym a couple of hours later he rushed his wife to the hospital. Both Amanda and the baby died a couple of days later.

The police had some rather poor quality video of someone leaving the Blackburn’s home soon after the murder and rape. The police said they know who did the deed but didn’t have an immediate name. Police arrested Taylor just 10 days after Amanda had been raped and murdered.

Police say a gun was found near the scene and Taylor and two others have been tied to previous rapes and robberies. It is believed that while Taylor was raping and murdering Amanda, his accomplices were emptying out the Blackburn’s bank account at a local ATM machine.
