Islamic State Calls Anonymous ‘Idiots’ for Declaring All Out War on Them

The Islamic State responded to Anonymous' declaration of war by calling them idiots on Tuesday. Anonymous has pledged to take the Islamic State down in retribution for the attacks in Paris.

Over the past weekend the online activist group, Anonymous, posted a video in which they declared total war on the Islamic State. Anonymous vowed to take ISIS down however they could and stated there would be no escape for the Islamic State. On Tuesday, the Islamic State made their reply to Anonymous, calling them idiots for having declared total war on them.

In their video Anonymous stated that they would “launch their biggest operation ever” against the Islamic State in retaliation for the recent attacks in Paris that left 129 dead and hundreds severely wounded, reports Newsweek. Soon after the Islamic State had called Anonymous idiots, a post went up by a group known as the Islamic Cyber Army and was released through a security application known as Telegram. The Islamic State is well known to use the Telegram application. The post made some security suggestions with regard to the Anonymous threats.

The post was specific about security measures followers could take to protect themselves from an Anonymous cyber attack. The post suggested changing their locations frequently with regard to their phones and online presence, not opening suspicious email or associated links, and to definitely avoid all contact with people they do not know. The post also went on to say how easy it would be for Anonymous to hack them through Twitter and the Telegram application.

The Anonymous video that was posted over the weekend has already received a total of 5 million world wide views. It featured their traditional hooded figure with the now legendary Guy Fawkes mask announcing that the group has declared total war on the Islamic State.

The hooded figure said that the Islamic State should expect huge and devastating online attacks and that Anonymous members would use their hacking skills to bring the rest of humanity together. Thus far, Anonymous has flagged or destroyed 101,000 Twitter accounts, has hacked and destroyed 149 Islamic State sponsored websites, and has flagged or destroyed over 6,000 Islamic State propaganda videos.
