New video has surfaced on Monday that claims the Islamic State will attack anyone that supports the French and that Washington. DC, may be its next likely target.
A new video surfaced on Monday that proclaims that the Islamic State intends to strike in Washington, DC the same way in which they attacked Paris. The video was produced by an organization that declared it is affiliated with the Islamic State.
The video was extremely explicit, reports USA Today. In it, the militants say, “We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of Paris we swear we will strike America at its center in Washington.”
The video was sent out worldwide just a few hours before American President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande agreed to work together to continue airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria and Iraq. The Islamic State has been securing territory for the past couple of years that straddles both the nations of Syria and Iraq. It is hoping to create its own country dedicated to militant fundamentalist Islam.
President Hollande has declared that the events in Paris were a declaration of war on France by the Islamic State and that France would respond accordingly. The attacks in Paris on Friday left 129 dead and nearly 400 severely wounded. President Obama said that American airstrikes will intensify in coordination with France, but that no American troops will be sent to the region. Hollande declared that the French will work with both the Americans as well as with the Russians in combined efforts to finally destroy the Islamic State and their reign of terror.
The video also threatened all nations of Europe and said that they, too, will be targeted if they try and interfere with the Islamic State’s grand plan for establishing a separate and independent country in the Middle East. The French police have been highly active since Friday’s Paris attack and so far have arrested 23 individuals and placed another 104 in detention and house arrest just in the last two days.
