Secret Service Agent Arrested in Police Sting for the Solicitation of a Minor

A Secret Service agent was arrested on Monday for solicitation of a minor. The agent thought he was talking with a 14 year old girl but it turned out he was taking to a Delaware state trooper.

A Secret Service agent was arrested on Monday and charged with the solicitation of a minor. When the facts became known, it turns out that the agent wasn’t talking to the 14 year old girl he thought he was talking to. He was actually having an online chat with a Delaware state police detective who was conducting a sting operation.

Lee Moore, 37, of Maryland will have a preliminary hearing in court on Friday on the charges. It is just the latest embarrassment and public relations disaster for the agency that is responsibly for the protection of the president and other high ranking officials in the government including the president family, according to The New York Post. The charges against Moore include soliciting the supposed girl for sex and for text messaging what has been determined as “obscene” images to this pretend girl. No one has defined “obscene” or identified who decided it was to be labeled that.

Moore also must face federal charges for attempting to transfer “obscene” material to a minor. No one has yet to say that he was actually transferring the material to a grown man who was a Delaware state trooper. Moore surrendered peacefully to police on Monday. The Secret Service continues to be cloaked in scandal. Back in 2012, several agents were involved in a prostitution scandal down in South America. This is not to even mention that fact that last year a man was allowed to reach the White House armed with a knife. The man had climbed the fence and had actually made it inside the White House before being apprehended.

Moore was stationed at the White House. His security clearance has been suspended and an agency spokesman said that the agency takes potential criminal wrong doing by its staff seriously. Police reports state that Moore had originally contacted this “young girl” in August by way of the social media platform, Meet24.

Delaware state police detective, Kevin McKay, stated that Moore had told him that he wanted to come to Delaware to have sex and McKay said Moore actually believed that he was a 14 year old girl. Moore has, allegedly, solicited others he believed to be underage girls online in the past.
