A drone strike in the city of Raqqa, Syria may have killed the murderous Islamic State sociopath "Jihadi John" who had been responsible for many vicious beheadings.
An American0led coalition airstrike into Raqqa, Syria, may have killed the elusive and murderous Jihadi John. While American intelligence has yet to confirm that the strike has killed the infamous Islamic State murderer, intelligence agencies state that they are fairly certain that it did.
British Prime Minister David Cameron announced late Thursday night that the raid on Raqqa had targeted the terrorist and that the strike was a simple matter of self defense, according to CNN. Cameron said that hunting down and destroying Jihadi John has always been a priority for coalition forces involved in the civil war in Syria. Cameron said British and American forces had targeted Jihadi John as he was traveling in a vehicle. They launched an immediate drone attack in an effort to bring him down.
Jihadi John, whose real name is Mohammed Emwazi, has been the murderous spokesman for the Islamic State for quite sometime. He is always the one featured in released videos showing people being beheaded. Emwazi is one of the most wanted men in the world and is also a British citizen. He was always dressed in all black, masked or hooded, and holding a huge knife. He is responsible for the beheading deaths of many including American journalists and aid workers as well as journalists and aid workers from Britain, Japan, and elsewhere.
Even the British Muslim organization, The Ramadhan Foundation, came out publicly and said the death of Emwazi would be a huge moment in the continuing fight to get justice for the countless people he has murdered. The drone attack happened on Friday morning U.S. Eastern time but it was very late on Thursday night in Syria.
Early intelligence reports state that four Islamic State soldiers were killed in the strike and it has been noted that one of them was a British citizen. Hunting down and killing Emwazi has always been a major priority for Cameron and others. Emwazi has not been in beheading videos of late because intelligence had confirmed that he had gone in to hiding and had been seen in Raqqa. Emwazi was a murderous sociopath according to those who knew him and survived him and he became a radical Islamic fundamentalist in 2009 after a trip to Africa.
