Two Louisiana Officers Arrested for the Murder of Six Year Old Autistic Boy

Two police officers from Louisiana were arrested and are being charged with the shooting death of a six-year-old autistic boy as well as with the wounding the boy's father.

Two police officers from the small town of Marksville, La., have been arrested and charged with second degree murder in the death of a six-year-old autistic boy and the wounding of the boy’ father. The police officers arrested are Norris Greenhouse, Jr., 23, and Derrik Stafford, 32. Both were working their police jobs as second jobs.

The pair have been charged with second-degree murder and attempted second degree murder according to the Alabama news site al.com. They were charged on Friday in the shooting death of six-year-old Jeremy Mardis and with severely wounding his father, Chris Few in Marksville.

Louisiana State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson is in charge of the investigation and has commented that the murder of the little boy was one of the most disturbing and horrifying things he has ever seen as a police officer. Edmonson had viewed the footage from the officers’ body cameras and stated that the little boy was still in his seat strapped in with a seat belt.

What actually started the whole incident remains unknown at this time. Investigators believe that things about this case were not right from the outset of the investigation. The state police investigators are following up emails, 911 calls, witnesses, forensics, and any other evidence they can gather to try and determine what really happened.

There was another pair of police officers who were involved in the incident and Colonel Edmonson stated that they were looking into that and more arrests could soon be made in the case. The reason the two police officers stopped Few is unclear and the coroner has testified that the pair were serving a warrant on Few who took off rather than be served.

Morris German, 57, who is the stepfather of Few, stated that it was his belief that the two police officers just began firing on Few’s vehicle for no reason at all. Few currently lies in critical condition in a hospital. He is under heavy sedation an has bullet shrapnel in his lungs and brain.

German went on to remark that he could see no reason at all why anyone would shoot down a six-year-old boy.
