Knife attacks being carried out by Palestinians against Israelis continues with no end in sight to these horrific murders. There was a spree of murders on Monday as Israeli police shot and killed several Palestinian attackers. The violence has been spreading over the past couple of weeks as territorial claims and other religious differences have the two factions continually at odds.

In the northern Israeli city of Netanya, a 70 year old man was attacked and stabbed on Monday just hours after several other attacks had occurred. The elderly Israeli man was seriously wounded and Israeli police shot and killed his attacker, according to The Washington Post. The most recent attacks have happened as Palestinians are retaliating for Israeli soldiers having shot and killed a Palestinian along the border at a checkpoint.

Earlier in the day on Monday, an 80 year old Israeli woman was stabbed in the back by a Palestinian teenager. The teen stabbed her several times in a busy commercial section of downtown Tel Aviv. The teenaged attacker fled, stabbed another man in the chest, and continued his knife attacks until people on the busy retail street tackled him to the ground and held him until police arrived on the scene. The 80 year old woman sustained serious wounds including a fractured hip. The man stabbed was 40 years old and he suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack.

In another attack, a Palestinian was caught on video smashing an Israeli woman over the head with a glass bottle. The attacker fled but was run down and captured by police in Jerusalem’s Old City. The attacks have been ongoing since early September and began over the turmoil surrounding one of many sites that are considered sacred and holy to both Judaism and Islam.

Since the violence began, 63 Palestinians have been killed along with eleven Israeli’s. Most of the eleven Israeli’s were killed in knife attacks.
