A young Connecticut man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his parents who had been missing for months. On Thursday, Weston, Connecticut, police found the remains of Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin who were found buried in a nearby Weston yard. The bodies were uncovered and their son, Kyle Navin, 27, was arrested and charged with their murders.
Navin was arrested and charged with the two murders while he was already in federal custody on an unrelated weapons charge. In addition, state police arrested his girlfriend, Jennifer Viliante, 31, and charged her with conspiracy to commit murder, according to Fox News. Easton and Weston are affluent towns located close to Bridgeport.
During a court hearing on Navin’s weapons charges, the Assistant U.S. Attorney, Tracy Dayton, stated that there was clear evidence for charging Navin with murder and that the government planned on prosecuting the case against him for the murder of his parents. Navin’s lawyer had no comment for the media regarding the weapons charges or the murder charges.
Navin’s parent, Jeffrey and Jeanette, went missing on August 4 and their pickup truck was located on August 9 at a parking facility in nearby Westport. The truck had a shattered and broken window when it was located. Jeffrey was the president of a local refuse company and Jeanette worked at the local Weston school library as an aide.
There were text messages exchanged between father and son on the day that the Navin’s disappeared. Jeffrey wanted to know if Kyle had in any way harmed his mother. In a search warrant search of Kyle Navin’s vehicle, police say they had gathered certain DNA evidence that will be relevant to the case. There was blood found in Kyle Navin’s truck and the blood was tested and found to belong to his mother, Jeanette. There was also a bullet hole found in one of the seats of the truck.
In a previous text exchange between Navin and his girlfriend Viliante in July, Navin told her he was going to solve all of their problems so that they can have a very wealthy life. Viliante replied that she was unsure but that the plan sounded good to her. Navin’s final message to her was: “wipe out the infection and get $ for life. It’s the perfect plan.”
