Planned Parenthood claims the videos are edited and nothing illegal or unethical took place.
Thousands swarmed Plannet Parenthood clinics across the country, angrily demonstrating against aboriton in the wake of a recent controversial video that appears to show a Planned Parenthood exec talking about selling a fetus.
The anti-abortion activists are attempting to draw attention to the issue and put pressure on the government to shut down federal funding for the organization, which in addition to assisting with abortions also provides health care to women, according to a Washington Post report.
An estimated 320 clinics were targeted in the protest. Some drew a few dozen protests, while others saw hundreds or even thousands of protesters.
The protests began at 9 a.m. on Sunday with speakers, prayer groups, and lots of chanting and sign-waving. The organizers distributed signs that said “Planned Parenthood sells baby parts.’
The uproar came after an anti-abortion group secretly filmed Plannet Parenthood staffers apparently discussing the extraction of tissue from aborted fetuses that would be used in research facilities. Planned Parenthood claims the videos are edited and nothing illegal or unethical took place.
