Asburn, VA: Officials indicate that 1 passenger and two flight attendants were taken by Emergency Medical Services to a Reston, VA hospital after a flight arriving at Dulles International Airport from San Juan, Puerto Rico experienced turbulence in its approach on Saturday afternoon, according to a Reuters report.
In a statement, United Airlines indicated this about Flight 1597: “The aircraft was met by local medical authorities and one passenger and two flight attendants were transported to an area hospital for further evaluation”. The United Statement did not indicate details about the passengers health.
Jonathan Freye, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, confirmed the three were taken to Reston Hospital Center near the airport.
A second flight, United Airlines 1774 from San Francisco, originally sought medical assistance but cancelled their request after passengers declined according to flight officials, as reported by local TV outlet WJLA. Flights resumed normally after the two incidents, MWAA indicated.
