Dota 2 has become a worldwide obsession, and the latest update is aimed at roping even more players into the game.
Valve is completely overhauling Dota 2 — short for Defense of the Ancients — and is trying to change the entire user experience.
Dota 2 Reborn will feature an entirely new interface, a new game engine, and new custom games, and a beta version will be available for Dota 2 players who want to see what all the fuss is about, according to an IGN report.
Even the site itself has gone through a massive change, with a total redesign of the dashboard and party management, invites, voice chat, and even a party beacon that will allow players to tell everyone else they’re open for more in their party.
The customizable profiles of friends will now be interactive, and friends will be able to compare how their heroes performed as well as their playstyles.
Then there’s the introduction of the “hero browser,” which Valve has created to let players filter heroes and items available to them.
And for the stat-heads out there, you won’t be disappointed. There’s plenty of graphs and stats available to players on DotaTV, and you’ll be able ot watch tournaments there, as well as bookmark matches that you want to watch (but may not have time to right at this moment).
For those who want to play Dota 2 but just aren’t as experienced as everyone else, there will be Guided Bot Matches and tutorial that will allow them to learn the mechanics.
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena that has become a hugely popular game worldwide and resulted in the creation of huge tournaments between skilled players. It is a free-to-play game available for all major operating systems, and it was released in July 2013 by Valve.
