Are you eager to play the latest FIFA '16 soccer video game? Well, if you own one of these consoles, you're out of luck.
Are you looking forward to playing the latest installment of one of the most popular video games on the planet, FIFA 16? Many people are, but if you are the owner of a 3DS, Wii U, or PS Vita, you’re going to be out of luck.
Pocket Gamer reported that EA had told them there won’t be a Vita or 3DS version for the highly anticipated game, which means those who enjoy the series on handhelds or mobile platforms will be disappointed.
However, EA didn’t slam the door shut for mobile users at some point, indicating that while there is no further detail on the mobile version, the company will be “sure to share with you when we hear more,” Pocket Gamer reported.
FIFA 15 was featured on both the 3DS and PS Vita last year, which means that EA went back to the drawing board and ultimately decided that releasing the game for those handhelds doesn’t make sense for whatever reason.
It also means that future versions of the game probably won’t come on handhelds either, so FIFA 15 may be the last time 3DS or PS Vita owners will get to experience the Beautiful Game on their platforms … at least for the time being. But there is still hope for mobile.
FIFA 16 will feature some firsts, particularly the first-ever inclusion of women’s soccer teams into the game.
FIFA 16 marks the latest installment in a long-running video game series that first showed up as “FIFA International Soccer” back in July 1993. FIFA 15, the last title, was released Sept. 23, 2014.
