American Idol judge confronts contestant on stage for calling show ‘wack’

The popular competitive singing show American Idol had a tense moment on Wednesday that left everyone talking. Contestant Quentin Alexander appeared upset during his singing session and called the show “wack.”

It was reported that host Ryan Seacrest confronted Alexander as to why Alexander looked tense during his turn in singing. Alexander responded by saying that the situation was “wack” because one of his two friends, two other contestants, might go home despite being “amazing vocalists.”

Seacrest decided to send Alexander backstage but judge, Harry Connick Jr., decided to address the comment made by the contestant. Connick Jr. called the comment made by Alexander disrespectful.

When Alexander came out to speak with the judges, Connick Jr. asked the contestant as to why would the show be “wack.” Alexander responded by saying that he felt that it was wrong to send one of his two friends home. It was what he felt and he felt like expressing it.

Connick Jr. said that the show was “a competition.” Alexander continued to say he did not mean to disrespect the show. Alexander’s apologies were met with scattered applause from the audience.

After the other two contestants sang, Rayvon Owen and Joey Cook, the count made through Twitter took place and one of them had to go home. It turned out to be Rayvon Owen.

As for the confrontation between Connick Jr. and Alexander, the judges decided not to mention it again throughout the show. Despite Quentin Alexander’s feeling of the show being “wack,” he still had to see one of his good friends go home.
