Supernatural horror world of Stephen King’s ‘Dark Tower’ to finally become a movie

After years of anticipation, The Dark Tower series will finally hit the big screen! The sci-fi slash horror series written by American Author Stephen King is a book series that revolves around a physical and metaphorical nature. The series was inspired by the “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came” poem written by Robert Browning. In fact, the poem’s full content is included in King’s final volume’s appendix.

Now after many years of deliberation, Sony and MRC will co-finance the film that will be based around the very first book in the series, The Gunslinger. The strong team being lined up to produce the picture include Ron Howard, Akiva Goldsman, Erica Huggins, and Brian Gazer. Although there have been previous drafts made of the movie, there will be a total makeover underway. King stated that he is excited to finally see his masterpiece take a major leap into the silver screen.

The seven book series centered on a character named Roland Deschain also has a television series in the works from MRC. Deschain lives in a supernatural world named Mid-World where he is in search of a structure called The Dark Tower, the nexus of all various worlds. This character’s mission is to defend the tower against the mystifying figure that’s attempting to destroy it.

Marvel spun a comic series based on the book series in addition to a video game called Discordia. However, all who have attempted to create a film version of this magical story have not had success.

Fans of the supernatural world will have both mystical productions to look forward to as we wait for the two projects to come to fruition.
