Four found dead in Tulsa murder-suicide

The bodies of four people who apparently died from gunshot wounds were found in a Tulsa home after an employer called looking for a missing employee.

Two young boys under the age of 10, an adult female and an adult male were discovered after what may have been two full days after their death, according to the Kansas City Star.

Police were called to the home on Wednesday afternoon around 3pm when one of the victim’s workplace called police. At this point, nobody had heard anything from the family in almost two days.

“An employer of one of the occupants of the house was worried and hadn’t seen her in a couple of days,” said Capt. Matt McCord with Tulsa police.

Upon arrival to the house, police found that the door was unlocked. They found evidence that several shots had been fired. A gun was recovered as well as several shell casings. Although it was unclear at the time of arrival, police later were able to link the four victims as a family unit.

The police found a handgun near the man’s body and said they were not looking for a suspect, but believed that the adult male killed the woman and two boys and then himself.

The apparent murder-suicide seems to have taken place two or more days prior to finding the bodies, say local police. The information is based on when the four were last seen and from an investigation into phone records.

Tulsa police say that when questioned, the neighbors said they were surprised by what happened and consider their neighborhood to be safe. Other neighbors also revealed a sense of shock to the news, claiming that the area felt safe and that there were always kids playing in their yards.
