Oregon infant starves to death while mom uses breast milk for online pornography

An Oregon couple has been arrested on charges of murder after their 7-week-old baby died. An autopsy determined that the death was due to starvation. The parents told investigators they did online pornography, which involved viewers paying to watch while the mother self-lactated. The two said they fed the baby milk but did not take him to a doctor even when he was losing weight.

Amanda Marie Hancock, 21, and Stephen Michael Williams Jr., 26, are accused of neglect and maltreatment in the death of 7-week-old Data Toria Hancock, by failing to provide him with medical care and adequate food. The two are charged with extreme indifference to human life and are being held without bail.

An ambulance was called to the home of the couple on Jan. 22 after a report of a baby who had stopped breathing. Efforts to revive the child were unsuccessful. Hancock and Williams were arrested on Tuesday after the state medical examiner’s autopsy showed that the infant died of starvation. The couple also has a 2-year-old child, who has been taken into protective custody.

The probable-cause affidavit said that Williams admitted to investigators that he thought the baby was losing weight, but did not call a doctor “because that was Amanda’s responsibility” according to the agreement they had made.

A grand jury is scheduled to hear the charges next week.
