Police say the woman had just gotten home from giving her teenage daughter driving lessons when the vehicle pulled up behind her and shots rang out.
A nurse and mother of four was gunned down outside her home in what police believe was a road rage-related incident.
Tammy Meyers eventually passed away after being shot Thursday in a confrontation with people in another vehicle on her way home from giving a driving lesson to her daughter at a nearby school, according to an ABC News report.
The vehicle followed her home, and when she got out of her car someone in the vehicle started firing a gun at her. Her 15-year-old daughter had already gone into the house and did not see the shooting.
Police believe the shooter was a white man of approximately 25 years of age, about 6 feet tall, and about 180 pounds with dirty blonde hair in a spike style. He reportedly has hazel or blue eyes.
The car he was in was described as a four-door gray or silver sedan that possible had damage to the front and driver’s side, and may also have gunshot damage.
The victim’s husband, Robert Meyers, told an ABC affiliate that he didn’t understand why she had to lose her life over the incident, and that “every time you turn around someone’s getting shot.”
Meyers was reportedly shot in the head as her teenage daughter ran into the home to alert her 23-year-old brother, who grabbed a 9mm handgun and fired back at the car, police said according to an Inquisitr report.
Meyers was rushed to the hospital in a coma but eventually died from her wounds on Valentine’s Day after being taken off life support.
