Greg Plitt, a well-known fitness model and actor, was killed while filming on train tracks in Burbank.
A Baltimore-born fitness model and actor was recently killed while filming on an active train track in Burbank, California, as reported by the Houston Chronicle. His previous work included videos shot on train tracks as well.
Burbank Police Sgt. Scott Meadows said George Plitt Jr., 37, was struck by a Metrolink passenger train on Saturday afternoon. Investigators considered suicide at first but it has now been ruled out.
Two men were filming Plitt at the time of his death. Investigators are trying to determine who allowed the men to film on the restricted area of the tracks. Witnesses report that Plitt remained on the tracks even as the train’s horn blasted. It is possible that Plitt may have thought the train was on a parallel track nearby.
Sgt. Meadows noted, “It’s like a blind turn. When the train came, you might not be able to tell which set the train is on.”
Plitt, also known as Greg, had appeared on two Bravo reality television shows: Work Out and Friends to Lovers. His website noted that he had appeared on more than 200 magazine covers as well as the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Prior to his work as a fitness model and actor, he graduated West Point and served in the Army for five years.
