The video was shot on the dash cam of Officer Jeff Davis in Delaware, and the Dover Police Department uploaded it to their Facebook page, where it took off.
Taylor Swift is reportedly a big fan of a police officer whose video went viral after dancing to Swift’s hit “Shake it Off” in his patrol car.
Officer Jeff Davis of the Dover Police Department in Delaware filmed himself on DashCam mouthing the words to the song as he drives around. The video was uploaded to the Dover Police Department’s Facebook page, according to a report by The Independent.
The officer lip syncs the words to the song and dances while driving in his patrol car, going into a deadpan expression when he passes pedestrians. On the police department’s Facebook page, it states: “While reviewing dashcam footage, we come across some interesting sights to say the least,” dubbing the “new web series” as “Dash Cam Confessionals.”
Taylor Swift tweeted her enjoyment of the video, laughing at the “sass” of the officer.
The song “Shake It Off” was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in September and won the Favorite Song award at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards. It is also up for a Grammy Award for Record of the Year.
The video by Officer Davis was uploaded Jan. 16 and has since then received more than 7 million views. The officer will make an appearance on Fox News, and the video has received airtime on CBS This Morning and Good Morning America.
