Former Cosby kid Keshia Knight Pulliam axed from Celebrity Apprentice for refusing to call TV dad for donation

Celebrity Apprentice had its season premiere last night, and former Cosby Show actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played the adorable youngest daughter Rudy, was first to get the ax – in part because she refused to call her former TV dad Bill Cosby for a contribution.

The celebs were tasked with hosting a charity bake sale, and getting donations from their other famous friends. Pulliam was selected as her team’s project leader; they subsequently lost the challenge. When called on the carpet in Trump’s boardroom, Pulliam was lambasted by the judges – Trump, his daughter Ivanka, and Piers Morgan – and her team for not reaching out to Cosby for financial assistance. Vulture breaks down the three-minute exchange.

“Did you call Bill?” the elder Trump asked her.

“I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don’t know how long,” said Pulliam, crying. “‘So for me to pick up the phone, having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event—I feel that’s not my place to do.”

“I really believe, if you’d called that gentleman, he would’ve helped you, even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years,” Trump told her. “I think it would’ve been a very good call to make for charity. But you have to take responsibility. I think you agree with that.”

For anyone even vaguely familiar with the ongoing Cosby rape allegations, it borders on unbelievable that Trump or the Celebrity Apprentice producers would consider it in even semi-decent taste to leave this segment in the episode. In the case of this reality show, it seems as though reality intruded far too uncomfortably.
