“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” is the third and final installment in Peter Jackson’s trilogy that covers the story of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, the prequel to the Lord of the Rings series. It was preceded by “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” in 2012 and “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” in 2013.
