Vin Diesel has dropped another hint at his possible involvement in Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Inhumans.

On Dec. 28, Diesel changed his Facebook cover photo to a black-and-white picture of the actor standing in front of the tagline “Are You Inhuman?” In addition, the actor was wearing a black cutoff t-shirt that had “Inhumans” printed across the front.

When Diesel first revealed he was in talks with Marvel Studios, rumors began to swirl the 47-year-old actor would be playing Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans in the Marvel Universe. It was later revealed that Diesel would be portraying Groot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. 

However, the actor was coy about future involvement with Marvel, saying on Facebook “Vin and Marvel… you all made it happen! I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha.”

Diesel has a history of being open with his fans, announcing his talks with Marvel and his landing of the role of Groot before either were officially revealed by Marvel. However, there have also been instances of Diesel posting fan-made pictures that later became news headlines. Specifically, Comicbook.com points out an instance when Diesel posted a fan-made picture of himself as The Vision, a character later confirmed to be portrayed by Paul Bettany.

If this rumor turns out to be accurate, it would mark only the second instance of an actor having multiple roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So far, Marvel Studios has stayed away from recasting actors in new roles. The only actor to have two roles is the previously mentioned Bettany, who portrays both J.A.R.V.I.S. and the Vision.

Still, it is worth noting that Diesel’s portrayal of Groot is essentially just a voice acting job. The character looks nothing like Diesel and the actor is not on set doing any sort of motion capture. Black Bolt, on the other hand, is a character that rarely speaks. It would be a role entirely dependent on the actor’s physicality. The nature of the two roles might work in Diesel’s favor if he does turn out to be in negotiations for the role.

Inhumans is set to premiere Nov. 2, 2018. Diesel will reprise his role as Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, premiering on May 5, 2017.
