Christmas is over, but one gaming company has decided to extend some much needed holiday spirit to its consumers.
Grand Theft Auto V lovers are thanking their lucky stars that the creating company, Rockstar Games, is extending a holiday offer to online users of the ultra popular game. Due to outages that affected the online networks for Xbox and Playstation during the last week, some gamers have not been able to access the latest update, appropriately named “Festive Surprise,” released by Rockstar for the online component of the game last Tuesday. But the company decided to extend the offer, giving online users the chance to get the update once all of the issues with the networks are resolved.
It was revealed recently that network issues involving the online networks for Xbox and Playstation were linked to hackers who took down the networks temporarily. Xbox Live is back up and running, and owners of the Playstation 3 are currently able to use the network, but owners of the Playstation 4 are currently still having difficulties accessing the network. Playstation has put out a statement saying that they are working on resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
It is unknown just how long Rockstar will extend the holiday offer, but one can assume that it will at least be until all issues are resolved. Among several holiday themed inclusions, the update also includes new weapons, clothing and even snow.
Grant Theft Auto V is one of the most popular games of all-time. In just the first three days of its release back in 2013, the game made over $1 billion in sales worldwide.
