Jones vs. cormier scheduled to take place at dawn of new year

The emergence of the 2015 is going to bring one of the most anticipated bouts in UFC: Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier. The fight will take place January 3rd, 2015 in Las Vegas Nevada at the famous MGM Grand at UFC 182. The stakes are extremely high for these two light heavy weight fighters; Jones, the current heavyweight champion, is defending his eighth straight title defense, and Cormier, the undefeated contender, is expecting his 16th victory in a row.

The anticipation of this super match has been building for months now. Jones and Cormier were scheduled to fight at UFC 178, but the promotional event back in August turned into a scuffle between the two opponents—resulting in legal repercussions for both fighters, and anxious UFC fans. Since then both Jones and Cormier have managed to relax, but continue to take verbal jabs at one another during interviews and social media posts about the fight. The verbal back and forth between the two fighters has been great for increasing the hype and buildup of the fight scheduled to go down at the dawn of the New Year.

The Jones vs. Cormier match will be available for viewing on multiple cable stations such as AT&T, DIRECTV, Comcast, and Dish. And will also be accessible online via YouTube, Yahoo Sports, UFC TV, and Fight Pass.

Along with the super bout between Jones and Cormier, UFC will be kicking off the New Year with some additional exciting MMA action: two extremely competitive lightweight fighters Donal Cerrone and Myles Jury will be facing off for the lightweight championship. Cerrone is ranked number four in the lightweight division, currently riding a 5-victory streak. Jury is ranked number eight and currently has a record of 6-0. This fight will take place January 18th, 2015 in Boston’s TD Garden.
