Bill Cosby friend Hugh Hefner calls sexual abuse allegations ‘saddening’

New alleged victims say that Cosby raped them at Hefner's Playboy mansion back in the 1970s.

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, a long time friend of Bill Cosby, spoke out Saturday about the sexual abuse and rape allegations, calling them “saddening.”

In a statement released this weekend, Hefner said the Cosby has “been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening,” adding that he would “never tolerate this kind of behavior regardless of who was involved,” according to a CBS Los Angeles report.

Cosby has been embroiled in sexual abuse and rape allegations by numerous women over the previous decades during his rise to fame, and each week seems to bring new allegations. Hefner likely spoke out in response to the latest claim, that a Cosby victim named Judith Huth was abused by Cosby at the Playboy mansion in 1974 when she was just 15 years old.

Huth said Cosby asked her to pretend she was 19, and gave her alcohol before sexual molesting her.

Attorney Gloria Allred and Huth met with the LAPD for two hours on Friday after filing a lawsuit against Cosby.

Cosby has so far denied any wrongdoing, claiming that Huth is trying to extort him.

Meanwhile, the LAPD will investigate the Playboy Mansion in California where Huth alleged to have been assaulted. Employees at the $54 million Hefner estate will be questioned, and detectives will investigate all formal complaints, according to International Business Times.

The LAPD declined comment, except to say there was an open investigation, according to the report.

Another alleged Cosby victim, PJ Masten, told CNN that he woke up naked and bruised in a bed with Cosby after receiving an alcohol drink in Chicago, and she thinks that she was raped that night back in 1979. Masten revealed herself on Friday, saying she wanted to stop the comedian from harming others.

Masten said she had worked at Playboy clubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New Jersey, and knew Cosby from his visits there. She was told not to report the rape because of Cosby’s status as Hefner’s “best friend,” she alleged. As more women have come forward, however, she decided to break her silence, she said.

Masten said she wanted Cosby “exposed for the serial druggie rapist that he is” and that he has “got to be stopped.”
