Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters create country music video

Hillary Rodham Clinton's supporters made a country music video to back Clinton in her potential campaign.

Hillary Rodham Clinton backers released a country music video with shots of a young Clinton on YouTube this morning. The video is called Stand With Hillary. The 3 1/2-minute music video switches from clips of Clinton, young and old, to shots of the passionate singer in rugged areas.

Stand With Hillary’s goal, according to Time Magazineis to create social media stories and reach out to Latino voters and the working class to promote her image. They describe themselves as a group that wants to “amplify the voices of everyday people,” and a statement appears on their web site saying that working families are still struggling, even though the economy is getting stronger, and that Hillary understands the need to support those who are the backbone of the country.

Some of the lyrics in the video align with what SWH is trying to accomplish in lines such as “She’s a mother, a daughter, and through it all she’s a loving wife,” and “Oh, there’s something about her, this great lady, caring, hard-working, once a First Lady, she fights for country and the family and now it’s time for us to stand up with Hillary.”

Some of the lyrics mirror Hillary’s own words about becoming the first woman to be president in America in 2008.  She noted that her backers helped crack the glass ceiling in the Democratic primaries. And in the video, someone physically cracks glass.

The video also emphasizes some of the lyrics by displaying them on the screen. Words and phrases such as “she fights for my country and my family,” “our american dream is at stake” and “caring” are shown.  So far, the video has more than 3,000 views on YouTube.

According to The Washington Post, the faces behind the currently self-funded political action committee are Los Angeles Democratic political operative Daniel Chavez,  and media producer Miguel Orozco. In a news release concerning the PAC, Chavez said they will try to get Latinos and working-class families to stand behind Clinton and battle predicted “gender-based” attacks.

Chavez previously worked for Bill Clinton in the Department of Labor. According to Time, his inspiration for SWH came from his daughter and wife who claimed they are inspired by the Clinton family.  Chavez said that Clinton “motivates my daughter to look for greater avenues to have a voice — that kind of inspiration is priceless.”  And Miguel Orozco was responsible for a serious of Latin-themed songs honoring Barack Obama during the 2008 election.

Although Clinton has not announced whether or not she will launch a 2016 White House bid, several political operatives are jumping on the chance to get in on the action of her supposed candidacy. More than a dozen Clinton-specific PACs, described by Washington Post as “high-profile,” have signed up with the Federal Election Commission. In the past six weeks, three have appeared on the scene.

Most groups have not filed any reports and have only earned small sums. However, some are receiving large donations and gathering supporters her possible presidential bid. Clinton merchandise has started to sell on Clinton-based websites. Some of the pro-Clinton super PACs that have joined the evolving industry along with SWH include Hillarypac, Hillary 2016, Ready for Hillary and Faith Voters for Hillary.
