Cops say they caught a man driving 127 mph on a highway in New Hampshire

Although police hit him with drug charges, reports suggest he was not impaired.

Police clocked a man driving 127 miles per hour in New Hampshire over the weekend.

New Hampshire State Police said it was an airborne unit that caught the man, who hit 127 on Interstate 93 in the town of Northfield, according to the Associated Press.

An airplane that was being used by the State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic Saturday morning when a trooper spotted a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The flight office twice checked the vehicle’s speed, both times registered speeds at well over 100 miles per hour, and one time at 127.

Troopers on the ground were dispatched to pull him over. He was identified as 19-year-old Ryan Quinn of Newport, Rhode Island. He was charged with reckless driving and possession of a controlled drug, with a court date in January in Franklin District Court. However, he did not appear to be impaired at the time, according to reports.
