The host "lost it" during a Best Friends episode shot in Hawaii that aired on Monday.
He may need to buy a moment. After 33 years of hosting Wheel of Fortune, host Pat Sajak may have reached his limit for ridiculous guesses. In a new viral clip from Monday night’s episode, available on People’s website, Sajak could be seen “leaving the set” in exasperation at the contestants.
This week the syndicated game show is featuring “Best Friends Week,” filmed in Hawaii. In the final round, best friends Mitch and Lee have filled in exactly 1 letter in a puzzle: an “N” in the first word. Taking a shot at the 4-word answer to the question “What are you doing?,” one of the men guesses, “Riding a brown horse.”
Sajak, 68, can be heard to exclaim, “That’s amazing! And it’s wrong,” as the audience laughs behind him.
The next team, friends Antoinette and Audrey, fills in one letter “G” and decides to take their own stab in the dark, guessing, “Riding a white horse.” As the audience erupts in laughter, Sajak turns and walks away from the wheel and the contestants in apparent disbelief.
Fortunately, he is too professional to go far. He quickly turns around and returns, explaining that he was “losing it” and asking in exasperation, “Who said anything about a horse?”
People reports that the correct answer turned out to be “seeing a buddy movie.” Huffington Post reported that the original “horse” guessers, Lee and Mitch, went on to win the episode. Sajak has not formally commented on the incident.
