His mother and her boyfriend have been charged with murder.
Jillian Tait and Gary Lee Fellenbaum were charged Thursday with murder in the death of three-year-old Scott McMillan, The Associated Press reports. They were also charged with aggravated assault in the beating of Scott’s older brother.
The details of the abuse and torture case, as provided by The Washington Post, are disturbing: 31-year-old Tait and 23-year-old Fellenbaum allegedly tortured Tait’s son inside a mobile him in West Caln, Pennsylvania. The child’s mother and her boyfriend, according to police, utilized a whip, a curtain rod and a frying pan to beat the three year old. They allegedly hung Scott upside down and beat him with various objects. Tait’s six-year-old son was also allegedly hung upside down and beaten.
According to MyFoxNY, Tait and Fellenbaum allegedly went shopping after the beating, purchased a pizza and had sex when they returned home. Later, Tait checked on Scott and became concerned because he was unresponsive. Fellenbaum’s estranged wife, Amber Fellenbaum, called 911 Tuesday.
Amber, who had been living with Tait and Fellenbaum, has been with child endangerment because she didn’t stop the torture and abuse.
Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan referred to the case as “an American Horror story,” according to The AP.
“It was an unspeakable act of depravity,” he added.
Hogan will reportedly be seeking the death penalty in the case.
