Kmart is opening at 6 a.m.
Toys R Us announced Friday that its stores will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving. The store says that its doors will remain open through 11 p.m. on Friday, November 28.
“All year long, we have been acutely focused on conducting consumer research, listening to what our customers want, and making incremental improvements to enhance their online and in-store shopping experience at Toys R Us,” said Joe Venezia, Senior Vice President, Store Operations, in a statement.
“Starting with the official kickoff of the holiday shopping season on Thanksgiving Weekend, as eager shoppers head to stores with detailed lists in hand – based on kids’ scribbled notes to Santa – our toy experts will be at the ready to remove the guesswork and ensure they find the toy, deal, service or special offer to help them check off every gift with ease.”
Toys R Us is not the first retailer to announce early hours for Black Friday deals. This year, according to CNNMoney, J.C. Penney will also open at 5 p.m. Last year, the retailer opened at 8 p.m., while many of its biggest rivals opened two hours earlier.
Kohl’s, Sears and Macy’s reportedly plan on opening at 6 p.m. on turkey day.
